If there had been shade - it would have been a 10. This is a very nice campground for going to the beach and vising the outer banks area. Concrete pad site are flat and no problems backing in. It is easy to connect to all utilities. Great cable and Wi-Fi. There are grassy areas for dog-walking. Several dumpsters for easy trash disposal (no site trash pick-up). We stayed in "Sound Side" area and had a view of the water. The beach is across the street with the "Ocean Side" sites," maybe a 10 minute walk for us.

Very friendly folks. A bit confusing on the site locations and getting in and out of some sites. Level areas and lots of shade. Be sure to bring extra lengths of water hose - some of the sites share with their neighbor. Roads are flat so it is good for walking, no golf cart needed. Nice area for dog walking. Wi-Fi worked well.

It was raining quite hard when we arrived and the water was a bit over the bridge, but the road was good and we arrived safely. We were given one pull-through site and got everything set-up. All utilities worked well - great cable and excellent wifi connection! The next morning we realized that space #19 was a bit snug for our 35 ft. camper with three slides. We spoke to the office folks and they gave us another site - easy to move through the park and get set-up again. This is an older park but it is well kept and the pool is beautiful! No fish in the pond, but it is nice to look at. The staff was very nice and they had a replacement tail-light bulb for the one we needed when we were leaving! We would return.

This was a very nice park. Lots of activities for family groups, fishing is free for campers. We stayed in a full-hookup back-in "lakeside" site. From our rear window there was a good view of the lake and the ducks but side neighbors were quite close. There is a $2/day fee for WiFi - less/day for a week or month. Our site was level and had easy access to utility connections. We did drive the long and winding road to the upper level sites - would not choose to stay in those. From the site map you cannot tell that there is a steep hill to access those sites. Overall we would stay here again - in this same are of the park. The fall or spring might be less crowded.

This is a wonderful place to get away. No pool or arcade but just a short walk to the New River Trail State Park. Very friendly people and the entire campground is very well taken care of. We will go back again.

This was a great stopping point. Very level sites and easy access to hook-ups. Cable and Wifi connections worked very well. Showers and bathrooms exceptionally clean. Their staff was friendly and very helpful. Signs made it easy to find - close to the Interstate exit but very quiet. Our dog liked the running (on leash) space. Not sure about the May review - must have been a different park. We will stay here again.

Quite a distance from the highway. Road winds up the mountain and sites are flat with good access to connections. We had an ATV and had fun driving in the area. if you do not have an ATV - a different campground might be a better choice. The vehicles are a bit noisy and are driven on the campground roads most times of the day.

Helpful staff. Nice pool area. Close to the river, fishing, and other activities available. Some sites are hilly. Good cable and WiFi connections. Quite a distance from the highway. Some narrow roads.
